Foundation – Hope Academy in Busia, Uganda

Hope Academy, located in Busia District, Uganda, was established in 2022 out of a deep conviction to serve children affected by the HIV/AIDS crisis. The region has witnessed a significant number of families torn apart by the epidemic, leaving countless children orphaned and vulnerable. Many of these young lives have faced extreme poverty, instability, and neglect—fighting daily for survival without access to education, emotional support, or basic care. The school was founded to meet this urgent need. Its primary mission is to provide free, accessible, and high-quality education to HIV orphaned children and those living in extreme hardship. While the initial focus was on orphans, the school has since extended its arms to include children from low-income families within nearby communities—especially those who once walked long distances in search of basic schooling. Today, Hope Academy serves over 400 children, most of whom are HIV orphans, street-involved, or from families burdened by poverty and social exclusion.

Under the caring leadership of Richard Oguttu, Hope Academy has grown into a Christ-centered environment where children receive more than just education—they find love, stability, and purpose. Richard and his dedicated team ensure every child is nurtured academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

With a strong emphasis on Christian values, life skills, and character development, the school empowers children to rise above their challenges. Today, Hope Academy stands as a beacon of transformation—restoring dignity and offering a hopeful future to the most vulnerable.
